Creating a logo

Design phase
There are a number of requirements I had to arrive at the current logo namely:
- Pixel perfect style
- The text “Signal From The Stars” must be in it
- Simple retro colors
In Photoshop it did not work well to get it Pixel perfect. This left the font too pretty. Below you can see the path I took to arrive at the current logo.

Logo
In the end, this became the logo.

The font is RasterForge Font 1.1 released under the CC0 1.0 Universal license.
The colors in it are from the Nintendo NES, it was also made in the program Asperite. This allowed me to easily generate the text in pixel style. What is also an advantage is the gradient style dithering. The downside to this is that it cannot be converted to a scalable SVG file.

There is also a “hidden message” in the logo. The yellow dots are there for a reason.
